The Philosophy Behind Our Approach

We don't reduce people to a single story.

Every person who walks through our doors brings a full life — not just a background. This talk by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie shapes how we see the individuals we work with and why we refuse to let one chapter define what someone is capable of.

Watch before you apply. It will tell you something about who we are.

National Networks & Partnerships

Connected to the broader workforce ecosystem.

Through City Startup Labs, Restorative Pathways is aligned with leading national workforce organizations — so the pathways participants enter are recognized and supported at scale.

Building Talent Foundation

National construction industry network connecting workforce pipelines directly to employers across the country.

JFF 75 Million Network

Jobs for the Future initiative advancing economic mobility for those without a four-year degree.

"This is a serious opportunity for individuals who are ready to work — and we are serious about preparing them to succeed."

Shaheedah Ross, Program Director — Restorative Pathways
Common Questions

Clear answers.

What is Restorative Pathways?
A free-to-participate, full-time workforce initiative operated by City Startup Labs. It prepares individuals for employment and careers across several industries including construction, infrastructure, green energy, water and public works, customer service, healthcare, and more — with a foundation in the skills that meet the demands of today's workforce.
Who is this program for?
Justice-impacted adults who are highly motivated to not just find a job, but build a career for the 21st Century. If you are ready to put in the work to get the skills, build on them and apply them — then this is for you.
Does the program cost anything?
No. There is no tuition. You invest your time and full engagement.
Is this a part-time program?
No. Cohorts are full-time with 100% attendance expected. This is not a drop-in program.
What certifications are available?
There are currently available certifications serving these industries: construction, infrastructure, green energy, water and public works, customer service, and healthcare. The specific certifications available to you will depend on your cohort track.
Does Restorative Pathways provide housing or transportation?
Not directly. We connect participants to trusted community partner organizations that provide wraparound services including housing, transportation, and mental health support.
Why is the application process multi-step?
Each step tells us — and tells you — something important about readiness and commitment. Completing all 8 steps carefully is itself a demonstration of what it takes to succeed in this program.
