North Carolina Business Incubation
North Carolina Business Incubation Association (NCBIA)
The North Carolina Business Incubation Association (NCBIA) was formed in 1996 as a volunteer business advisory committee to promote business incubation and assist existing incubators in the state of North Carolina. The organization was incorporated on March 20, 2002 and is 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization.
The overall mission of the North Carolina Business Incubation Association is to support business incubators and economic developers in the state of North Carolina by providing the information, education, advocacy and networking resources to bring excellence to the process of assisting early-stage companies. The NCBIA vision statement: “We will provide information, research and networking resources for members to help develop and manage successful incubation programs.”
Members of the NCBIA are managers/directors of North Carolina non-profit business incubators, most of which were established and funded in part by the North Carolina Legislature. Members of NCBIA provide technical assistance to other incubators and assist with an Annual Conference which provides training and networking opportunities to managers and directors of incubators in North Carolina. The Annual conference is open to non-profits and municipalities who are interested in starting a business incubation program in their community.
