Here’s What’s New…

Take a look — we have finally refreshed our website! While the look and feel haven’t changed much, learning about what we’ve been up to and why has gotten a lot easier.

Spend some time touring around the site. Check out City Startup Labs’ new Theory of Change, our history, and timeline. Reflect on the various cohorts that have come through the Center of Excellence or our current work with the ReEntry Entrepreneurship Program (REEP). And don’t forget to go to our YouTube page and watch a couple of CSL videos. And, of course, there are several ways for you to get involved with us – readily available on the website.

We welcome your feedback and comments, so feel free to reply at the website or to this email directly.

Restorative Pathways is our Second and Fair Chance workforce development program. This initiative is being conducted through REEP in partnership with Atrium Health to deliver highly-motivated returning citizens to the Atrium Health workforce. This year, the Restorative Pathways effort expanded to Winston-Salem at AH Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. We are proud to announce that this trailblazing Winston-Salem cohort graduated on March 3rd, 2023, and they are already on the job.

The current REEP class is rounding the corner into the third and final phase of LEARN/EARN/BUILD – a model for supporting justice-impacted persons on their entrepreneurial journey. The BUILD phase includes taking all that they have learned since August ’22 and using it to BUILD their ventures. The remaining participants of this cohort will be vying for a Business-in-a-Box* (kick-starter capital, back-office services, and coaching). *BizBox is sponsored by LISC and Ally Bank.

The 3rd Annual AfroFuturism Fest is coming Labor Day Weekend

AFF23 promises to be better than ever.
